First Responders and Health Care Heroes Appreciation Weekend/Event

Attention all Health Care workers, Police, Fire Fighters, EMS, Game Wardens, and all other area First Responders and Health Care Heroes!! You are invited to stay at The Brackenridge Recreation Complex for our 4 th Annual First Responders and Health Care Heroes Appreciation Weekend!

If you camp at Brackenridge Park & Campground, the weekend of June 2 - June 4, 2023, we would like to offer you a discount where if you rent one night of camping you get the second night free .

In honor of our first responders and health care heroes, we will have several of Jackson County’s finest with their police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and even a helicopter at the Brackenridge Park & Campground on June 3 rd from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm! The public is encouraged to come out for an up-close look at these emergency vehicles and meet some of our Jackson County and surrounding area heroes. Hot dogs, cake and ice cream will be served to all starting at approximately 5:30 pm!

The BRC appreciates all of our First Responder’s and Health Care Heroes’ hard work, dedication and sacrifice. First Responders and Health Care Heroes wishing to take advantage of the discount should make their reservation via phone and ask for the “First Responder/Health Care Hero Discount”. First Responders and Health Care Heroes will need to show their Agency ID upon check-in. Not a First Responder? No worries! With over 100 campsites within the park, we should have plenty of room for everyone!

Don't forget...

To finish the day off with a BANG, we’re having a Movie Night Under the Stars followed by a FIREWORKS SHOW! The movie will ‪start around 8:30 pm and the fireworks will start immediately following the conclusion of the movie. Visitors can best view the fireworks by parking in the grassy field across from the Harry Hafernick Recreation Center.
