Calling all fishing enthusiasts
ages 6-16, join us at the Brackenridge Recreation Complex for our first ever
Youth Catfish Tournament! The event will be held on Saturday, June 14th at
the Brackenridge Park & Campground Pavilion from 7AM – 1PM!
Time:
- Poles in at 7:00AM
- Weigh-In at 1:00PM
- Onsite registration is from 7:00AM – 9:00AM (CASH ONLY)
Age Groups:
- 2 age groups: 6-10 & 11-16
Tournament Categories:
- Jackpot Heaviest Catfish
- Jackpot Smallest Catfish (by weight – must be legal length)
- Heaviest Five Catfish Stringer
- If you entered the “Jackpot Heaviest Catfish” Category, you may not enter the same Catfish as part of your Five Fish Stringer.
- Fisherman’s Choice
- Caught a
bass? Crappie? Perch? Gar? Etc.? Bring your favorite one up to weigh in!

Age Groups:
- 2 age groups: 6-10 & 11-16
- $10 per child (BRC Campers ONLY)
- $20 per child (non-campers)
- Registration kicks off on Monday, April 28th @ 9:00 AM!
- If you’re camping at The Brackenridge Recreation Complex, there will be a form on our website labeled “Camper Registration Form”. Fill it out and email it to BRC@LNRA.org. Once we receive your form via email, we will attach the entry fees to your reservation. It is YOUR responsibility to call the Brackenridge Park Office to pay for your entry.
- If you are not camping at the BRC and would like to pre-register, there will be a separate online form labeled “Non-Camper Registration Form” that you can fill out and pay online with a debit/credit card.
- Onsite registration is CASH ONLY!
Prizes:
- 1st place in each category will receive $50 prize money and a trophy!
- 2nd- 3rd place in each category will receive a trophy!
- First 50 participants to register will receive a bucket and fishing towel.
- Stick around after the weigh-in, some lucky participants will walk away with a door prize
- *Winners must be present to receive prize.
Rules:
- All participants must register by 9:00 a.m. to be eligible for weigh in. PRE-REGISTRATION is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
- Must follow all Texas Parks and Wildlife Rules.
- Participants may fish anywhere on Lake Texana. Including fishing from banks, peers, boats, etc.
- Participants may use rod-n-reels or cane poles to fish with, no trotline or droplines
- Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
- Participants must be in line for weigh in prior to cut-off time (1:00PM)
- Fish may be dead or alive at weigh-in.
- This is a family-fun event for the kids who are participating. Appropriate sportsmanship and all-around good behavior are expected of every participant and visitor who attends.
